Know Your Neighbourhood Knowledge Sharing Event

Thursday, 9 May, 2024 - 10:00 to 12:00

At this third Knowledge Sharing Event for the Know Your Neighbourhood Project, we will welcome the following speakers:

  • Dr Nicola Currie, a Research Fellow on the Leverhulme Trust Reading and Wellbeing project, who will present findings from older adult data which will provide insight on how reading can promote three aspects of wellbeing: positive emotional experiences, connection with books and others in real life and opportunities for personal growth and lifelong reflection.

  • Kate Elliott from Brent Libraries, who will talk about the wonderful ‘Dress to remember’ initiative in Brent, a libraries outreach dementia friendly project.

  • Jez Hughes from Better Communities, who will provide an update on The Big Help Out.

  • James Austin from the Jo Cox Foundation, who will introduce the Great Get Together and Read Together.

We will also hear from some Know Your Neighbourhood projects to see how they are getting on, and share any lessons learnt so far.

Please note this session will be recorded.
